Sailing Polar Charters is proud to offer a range of sailing opportunities for the 2025 season. Book a private 2 hour, 3 hour, half day or full day sail (maximum of 6 persons) and enjoy the picturesque Peconic Bay aboard the Polar C II, a 1995 Catalina 36.
This father and son sailing duo has a long family history of navigating the waters of the Peconic Bay. Captain Bob’s grandfather was a rum runner out of New Suffolk during Prohibition, and both Captain Bob and Captain Bobby are self-proclaimed “Boat-a-holics.” They spend most of their free-time on the boat with their family and friends, and will be happy to regale you with stories of the bay they love and grew up on.
The adventure begins when leaving the dock in School House Creek, as you pass the first submarine base in the US at the New Suffolk Waterfront. From there we can sail past horseshoe cove, the spot where Albert Einstein looked out while writing his famous letter to president FDR in the summer of 1939, continuing on to the Great Peconic Bay or around the 435 acre, privately-owned Robin’s Island. Our favorite spots to drop anchor and take a swim are Robin’s Island cove or Cow Neck, the latter giving you the opportunity to swim to shore and climb “the sand dune.”

Both the Imagination and Blew Boat have hot water outdoor showers for rinsing off after a swim and a head (bathroom) down below.
